About M.E.F. Productions LLC

Martu E. Freeman-Parker brings over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry. She holds a BA in Fashion Merchandising/Consumer Services from Norfolk State University. After relocating to New York City, she gained extensive experience working with top apparel companies, holding freelance roles such as Assistant Production Manager, Merchandising Assistant, Fabric R&D Specialist, and Pre-production Manager. Her career spans industry leaders, including Polo Ralph Lauren, The Limited, Victoria's Secret Catalogue, Polo Jeans, Calvin Klein Jeans, Gap Inc., Carter’s, and Conde Nast Publications.

Martu also held permanent positions at well-known brands: she served as Production Assistant for Women’s Sweaters and Swimwear at J Crew, Pre-Production Manager for Women’s Knits at American Eagle Outfitters, and Design Coordinator for the Men's Department at Urban Outfitters in Philadelphia.

Currently based in Miami, Florida, Martu runs M.E.F. Productions LLC, an apparel consulting business providing services in design coaching, line development, brand management, and fashion business workshops. She is the Founder & Host of Fashion TALKS Miami, a monthly networking event for Miami’s local fashion community. In 2018, she published her first book, "Get the Hell Out."

From 2021 to 2024, Martu served as the Managing Director of Mana Fashion Services, part of Mana Common in Miami. She currently sits on the executive boards for Fashion Group International, the Fashion Merchandising Program at St. Thomas University, and the Miami Dade College Fashion Institute.

Founded in December 1999 by Martu E. Freeman-Parker, M.E.F. Productions began as a fashion event planning company. For 15 years, the company organized fashion events and art shows across New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Maryland, showcasing the work of emerging designers and artists. Martu established the company to provide designers and artists with essential resources, including sourcing and opportunities to present their work.

Now headquartered in Miami since 2015, M.E.F. Productions LLC has evolved into a full-service fashion consulting firm, offering specialized services in Design Coaching, Line Development, Brand Management, and Fashion Business Workshops. The company's mission is to empower fashion and creative entrepreneurs by equipping them with the strategies and tools needed for success in the competitive fashion industry.

M.E.F. Productions LLC also hosted Fashion TALKS Miami, a monthly networking event that fosters connections and growth within Miami’s local fashion community from 2017 to 2021. With a legacy rooted in excellence and innovation, M.E.F. Productions LLC continues to support fashion talent globally, providing tailored solutions to turn creative visions into successful brands.
